Writing a successful project proposal: trainings in Kruja, Vlora and Shëngjin.

“Road to writing a successful project-proposal for EU funds” is the title of the training carried out in three cities of Albania by the “EU for Municipalities” project.

In order to support the development potential of municipalities and improve the socio-economic and environmental conditions of local communities in Albania, the project also contributes to the sharing of experiences and lessons learned from the grant application phase. Therefore, the main goal of these trainings is to give all new staff of the Municipalities in Albania the opportunity to benefit from the lessons of the “EU4Municipalities” project.

The trainings were carried out in Krujë, Vlorë and Shengjin (Lezhë), in synergy with the “Municipalities for Europe” project, which aims to increase the capacities of Local Government Units, within the process of the European integration of Albania.

In the first training, held on March 29-31, 2023 in Krujë, 21 employees of the Municipalities of Albania participated. The staffs of the European Integration Units were introduced to the topics of their daily work. They were shown the concrete steps for designing a project, as well as a combined exercise between the orientation of the trainers and the simulation of designing a project selected by the attendees themselves.

In Vlora, the second training was held on April 11-13, 2023, combining theory with practical exercises for writing project proposals.

Also, in the training held in Shengjin (Lezhë) on April 18-20, 2023, among other things, the experience and lessons learned from the evaluation process of project proposals within the “EU for Municipalities” grant scheme were shared.

The training carried out in three different cities of the country included open discussions with the participants on the main challenges they face in writing proposals, where the possibility of sharing experiences between municipalities was also considered.

“EU for Municipalities” and “Municipalities for Europe” will continue cooperation to increase the capacities of municipalities in the field of managing European Union funds.
