The needs and priorities of local development in the Municipality of Gjirokastra were in the focus of the discussion with Mr. Flamur Golemi, mayor of this municipality. Further, we presented the EU for Municipalities project which will support the development and improvement of social and economic conditions of local communities in Albania.

Together with Mr. Orlando Fusco from the Delegation of the European Union in Albania and the team of the project “Municipalities for Europe” we held meetings with members of the municipal council and representatives of civil society in Gjirokastra. The meetings served to discuss about the role that municipal councillors and local organizations will have during the implementation of this project, in supporting municipalities in the processes of developing public services and improving community living through EU grants.
