“Bringing municipalities closer to the European perspective, with the support of the EU4Municipalities”

EU4Municipalities Newsletter

By Adelina Farriçi, Executive Director of the Association for Local Autonomy

The European Union (EU) is a long-time supporter of policies promoting decentralization, strengthening local governance, and empowering local communities in Albania. Within this vision, the EU4Municipalities project, through financial support, implements innovative projects aimed at developing local government capacities, increasing the quality of services and public infrastructure, as well as the inclusiveness of local communities.”

The project initiative has promoted the development of social cohesion in the community, the strengthening of cultural heritage and educational quality by being woven into the structure of local projects through the support of innovative ideas and the promotion of creativity.

At the same time, it has helped empower municipalities through knowledge sharing and collaboration, providing a platform for adapting best practices, learning from each other’s successes, and collectively addressing challenges to achieve efficient decision-making. This spirit of cooperation not only strengthens the municipalities involved but also enriches the community and brings it closer to the European perspective.

The Association for Local Autonomy, being part of the implementation of the project, has supported and promoted the main role played by each municipality in this effort for community development.

Every commitment, from a small or large municipality, contributes to the mosaic of progress. By embracing these initiatives, we not only invest in our localities but also contribute to a unified and sustainable future towards European integration, so it is important to continue such initiatives!
