The green transformation initiative in Tirana took a significant step forward with the inauguration of the first green terrace at the “Kosova” school. With the financial support of the European Union through the EU4Municipalities grant scheme, the Municipality of Tirana implemented the installation of a green terrace and an educational greenhouse, intending to implement similar projects in other public schools.<\/p>\n

649 children, along with community members, will maintain the “Green Terrace” and utilize it for various educational and research activities.\u00a0The “Little Gardeners” project has made students more knowledgeable about environmental conservation and healthy living.<\/p>\n

During the inauguration, Marie Augouy, Program Manager for Regional and Local Government of the Delegation of the European Union, emphasized the EU’s continued support, stating:<\/p>\n

“The European Union will continue to support Albanian municipalities with 10 million euros through a second phase of the EU4Municipalities project.”<\/p>\n

This commitment underscores the EU’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and environmental education in Albania. The green terrace at “Kosova” school is a pioneering project that not only enhances the school’s infrastructure but also serves as a valuable educational resource. The ongoing support from the European Union promises to extend these benefits to more schools, promoting a greener and more sustainable future for the community.<\/p>\n

EU4Municipalities is a project funded by the European Union.
