{"id":2128,"date":"2022-02-17T10:29:17","date_gmt":"2022-02-17T10:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eu4municipalities.al\/?p=2128"},"modified":"2026-05-07T10:04:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T10:04:47","slug":"eu-for-municipalities-the-right-tool-to-assist-albanian-municipalities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eu4municipalities.al\/en\/eu-for-municipalities-the-right-tool-to-assist-albanian-municipalities\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;EU for Municipalities&#8221; the right tool to assist Albanian municipalities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>by Agron Haxhimali, <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Albanian Association of Municipalities Director<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">It is our understanding that \u201cEU for Municipalities\u201d project has been conceived to have the right objective and resources, to assist municipalities to overcome their daily challenges related to dynamic developments of local governance, especially in the last years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">The objective of the project to support the developing potentials of municipalities and improve the environmental and socio-economic conditions in the local communities in Albania, represent a direct and effective response towards needs of our municipalities to develop local infrastructure and enable provision of public services of a higher quality as well as a sustainable local economic development.<\/span> <span class=\"JsGRdQ\">The Association of Albania Municipality<\/span> <span class=\"JsGRdQ\">encourages municipalities to be active throughout project implementation, by making best use of <\/span><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">opportunities<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">provided not only through two calls for proposal, but also during capacity building activities designed for municipal employees on application for funding and project implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"JsGRdQ\">Yet, we hope that the project proposals prepared by municipalities, reflect the real needs of municipality communities and are also part of strategic documents as well as approved priorities such as Action Plans and Local Development Strategies. Special thanks to EU Delegation and European taxpayers for enabling this financing opportunity to Albanian Municipalities through a grant scheme dedicated to investments to the benefit of local communities.
